Cyclo Garminada

June 19th from 9:15am – 8pm

Here’s an event in the Carson Valley. These guys recently attended a Scallycat race in Reno, and were inspired to put on their own event, the Cyclo Garminada. One of the promoters of this event, Anton Anger, had this to say, “Our goal is to have between 25 and 50 teams of two. The event will be a thursday, June 19th (weird day I know) from 9:15am – 8pm and open to all ages. The basic gist of the event is to score as many points as possible by completing tasks listed in a booklet assigned to every team within the alloted time. “Cyclo Garminada” as we have dubbed it, will be hosted by 88 cups in Minden and will include a BBQ after the event. The price for registration will be 20$ a team (pre registered teams only have to pay 18$).

Details are slow to emerge on New Belgium Brewing’s website, but it looks like this year’s Tour de Fat is once again coming to Truckee, CA on July 26th. I thought it’d be fun to camp up there this year. Who’s in?

Help Wanted at Veltec Sports

James from Veltec Sports sent me the following:

I’m in need of someone to help out my bike builder full-time, for the next couple of weeks. Tasks would be mounting tires and cassettes, organizing the builds, packing the complete bikes in boxes, etc. I’d like them to be full time for the next couple of weeks, working out of our bike build facility here in our warehouse.

If you are interested in this position, contact James at james@veltecsports.com.
